A Traction Electrician performs repairs and maintenance on electrical rail lines and the overhead electrical network that powers the trains and trams. They may work with equipment such as conductors, cables and rail traction wiring.
To help address an increasing shortage in these skills The National Rail Skills Hub has analysed National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) data.
This provides a better understanding of who's training in these skills, where they're getting trained and who's paying for it.
